This program provides a consistent space for students to complete homework, engage in independent reading, or practice academic skills using platforms like iXL. Students will explore the beginning levels of Hula and Ukulele. This includes ʻoli (Hawaiian chant), use of Hawaiian instruments, tab readings, and hōʻike (recital). Tuition includes a ukulele and a hula skirt!

Students will sing in a group and as a soloist, practicing all elements of performance technique: breathing, posture, projection, diction, expression, movement, confidence, and more! Song selections will include folk songs and musical theatre. This class is designed to benefit singers of all experience levels in grades 5 & 6 at ASA.

Students enrolled in this Club will be coached to develop their critical thinking and as a result improve their performance in all areas at school and life. Club meetings will include a 25-minute lecture followed by competitive play. Our coach, Chess Master Liulia Cardona has a long experience coaching competitive chess with amazing individual and team results at state, national, and international levels. Many of their students have been National and State Champions competing in the United States Chess Federation and other foreign federations. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in chess tournaments and discover a whole new world of smart minds from what they can benefit for life. All grades and levels!

Located at the Downtown campus on 3rd Street (a 5-minute walk from ASA), Phoenix Center for the Arts offers a variety of classes in art, music, theatre, writing, and dance classes for young people ages 6 to 18.
