Average Salary for All Teachers
The year-to-year change in teacher experience and education in the ASA teacher population affects the average salary. For example, a teacher with ten years of experience and a Master’s degree may leave and be replaced the following year with a teacher with four years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree. The substantial difference in years of experience and education would lower the school’s average teacher salary.
When all teacher salaries are aggregated and compared from year to year, the average salary for all teachers will differ from the percentage increase given to each individual teacher.
