1/17/19 1/28/19   Students grades 10-12. The American Mathematics Competition (AMC 10/12) is coming up on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Registration is today through Monday, January 28th. The cost is $5 per student, and you must pay online at goasa.org in the Schoolpay link.
1/22/19 2/8/19 Grades 7 & 8: MSA will be hosting a 7th & 8th grade bowling event at Let it Roll Bowl. Join us to have pizza, popcorn, soda, 2 hours of bowling, and fun! It costs $14 to be paid online on Schoolpay. This event will be held Friday, February 8 from 4-6 pm at Let it Roll. The address is 8925 N. 12th St.

Come join us for an evening of performances by our amazing Arts Faculty for our annual Faculty Showcase Recital at First United Methodist Church Sunday, January 276:00 – 8:00pm! This year’s recital will include performances by Ms. Anthony, Ms. Baggleman, Ms. Bender, Ms. Elder, Dr. Hwang, Ms. Lafferty, Mr. Murray, Mr. Pierce, Mr. Rhode, Mr. Robinson, Ms. Simiz, Dr. Sloyka, and Dr. Wuenschel. Admission is FREE so bring all of your friends and family!

1/14/19 1/17/19 Grades 10-12 – The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) will be on campus on Thursday Jan 17th at 2:20 pm to do an info session for 10th and 11th on their summer Bioscience Leadership Academy as well the summer Helios Scholars program, an 8-week paid internship for seniors. Sign up online and make sure to get your arts release slip signed in order to attend. Main 129.
1/14/19 1/18/19 Grades 5-12: This Friday, the18th, is Spirit Attack Pajama Day! Come to school dressed in your cutest and comfiest, school-appropriate pajamas. StuGo will be handing out candy during lunch. Disneyland sendoff is also the 18th, so make sure to dress up to be ready for the long ride!
1/11/19 1/18/19 Grades 7-12: Join Advocate for Change and make a difference in your community! We meet every Thursday during lunch in Mrs. Brown’s room (South 415)! We will be working hard on positivity grams to send out on Valentine’s Day, and soon will participate in the Red Wagon Round Drive for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital! So come join Advocate for Change and be the change you want to see in the world!

1/11/19 2/14/19 ASA Dance students in 7/8 BF2, Intermediate Dance, Classical Core, Contemporary Core and ASA/SBAZ Pre-professional program will attend Ballet Arizona’s Student Matinee of The Firebird and La Sylphide on Thursday, February 14, 2019. You will be dismissed from classes at 9:40 am and report to the campus dance studios to drop off your belongings and meet with your dance teachers. After attendance is taken, you will board the buses to go to Symphony Hall. ASA Concert Dress code will apply in order to be allowed to go to this performance. Please do not wear jeans, T-shirts, sneakers, and flip-flops. You will return to campus after the performance for a supervised lunch from 12:00-1:00 pm and return to your normal class schedule after lunch.

1/8/19 5/24/19 Grades 7-12: Need help with Spanish? Want to learn more about the culture? Come to Spanish Club South 312 on Wednesdays during lunch. We will have tutoring sessions in Profesor Miranda’s room on Tuesdays during lunch.
12/11/18 1/25/19 All School: Are you currently an ASA student in 5th through 10th grade interested in joining the ASA Dance Program for the 2019-2020 school year? The ASA Dance Program will be holding its annual ballet auditions on Saturday, January 12th and again on Saturday, January 26th from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on both dates in the B201 campus dance studio. Attire requirements are as follows: (Ladies) Hair should be worn in a secure bun. Please wear a black leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Ladies currently in 8th grade and higher are expected to bring their pointe shoes to the audition. (Gentlemen) Hair should be worn neat and out of the eyes. Gentlemen should wear a dance belt with a short sleeved close fitted T-shirt and black tights with black ballet shoes.
12/11/18 1/25/19 Grades 8-10: Are you an ASA student currently in 8th through 10th grade interested in joining the ASA Contemporary Core level for the 2019-2020 school year?The ASA Dance Program will be holding its Contemporary Core Auditions on Saturday, January 12th and again on Saturday, January 26th 2019 in the B207 campus studio from 9:00-10:00 am on both dates. Attire requirements are as follows: (Ladies) Hair should be worn in a secure bun. Please wear a black leotard with black footless tights and ankle socks. (Gentlemen) Hair would be kept neat and out of the eyes. Please wear a dance belt with a short sleeved close fitted T-shirt and black footless tights with ankle socks.
4/15/19 4/26/19 Grades 9-12 – The senior Theatre majors present their Senior Project production April 25-28 at Phoenix Center for the Arts.
4/1/19 4/9/19 Grades 5-12: The Theatre Middle School 3 and 4 Theatre class show will be presented Tuesday, April 9, 6:30 pm at the Jewish Historical Society. Admission is free.
3/25/19 4/2/19 Grades 9-12 – The Theatre Department class show featuring Theatre Studies and Performance & Management students is presented Tuesday, April 2 at the Arizona Jewish Historical Society. Admission is free.
2/18/19 3/1/19 Grades 5-9 – The Theatre Department’s middle school play, HONK JR., is presented February 27 – March 3 at the Kax Stage of the Herberger Theater Center. Tickets available at herbergertheater.org.
1/7/19 1/18/18 Grades 5-12 – The ASA middle school play, OZMA OF OZ, will be presented January 17-20 at the Hardes Stage of Phoenix Theatre. Tickets are available at Phoenixtheatre.com.
